The Road goes ever on and on Down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone, And I must follow, if I can, Pursuing it with eager feet, Until it joins some larger way Where many paths and errands meet. And whither then? I cannot say. -J. R. R. Tolkien

more excitment -- Ike on the way! · 1 day ago

Deb and I are in good spirits … thanks for your prayers. She is hoping to write an update soon (she has not been very inspired to write lately). But now … we have another interesting bit of excitment in our lives …

Hurricane Ike is supposed to arrive in our neighborhood around Wednesday … thank you Lord for the exciting lives you have given us! (PS: the photo above is not Ike, it was Andrew…I’ll try to find some photos of Ik’s projected path …)

Quotes from "The Shack" · 13 days ago

Mack, talking about changing the world:

“I don’t know how to change it all”

Jesus, sitting by the lake:

“No one is asking you to!” Jesus said tenderly. “that is Sarayu’s (The Holy Spirit) task and she knows how to do it without brutalizing anyone. This whole thing is a process, not an event. All I want from you is to trust me with what little you can, and grow in loving people around you with the same love I share for you. It’s not your job to change them, or to convince them. You are free to love without an agenda” (p. 181).
