Thank You to My Parents... · May 24, 12:29 PM
I want to send this to our family to hopefully start a new season in our family’s life. A season of thankfulness and blessings.
We have spent the past few years discussing and recieving healing for all the things that damaged us as children. And that was good because it brought healing, wholeness, humility and forgivness.
But now, I want to take a moment to focus on all the things our parents got right.
Mom and dad,
Thank you for choosing to have us.
Thank you for teaching us to love God and love others.
Thank you for instilling these virtues in us: peace, love, joy, and patience. Thank you for teaching us to fight fiercely for what is right and treat others with kindness and respect.
Thank you for teaching us honesty, humlitiy, servanthood and gentelness.
Thank you for teaching us to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, thankful, brave and reverent.
Thank you for showing us a love of nature, an appreciation for hard work, and the value of human life.
But most of all, thank you helping us to become people who try to CHANGE THE WORLD THEY LIVE IN FOR THE BETTER!
Everyone feel free to chime in!

BOOK REVIEW: Surfing the Edge of Chaos Tell the Truth but be nice about it: part 3
I’ve seen how lucky I’ve been that God gave me the parents that he did. You guys have been fantastic, and we can easily look around us and see that there are very few parents who have done and continue doing as well as you guys have. I second the motion, and thank you both for your loving support.

All I can say is thank you (as the tears flow). I eagerly look forward to this next season as Father brings each of you into His purposes. By the way…you’re welcome. It has been a joy! Not always easy, but a joy.
Love, Mom

Thank you Debbie and Joseph for all of the love and support you’ve given me. And for treating me like one of your own. I’ve learned a lot from you guys, not just by what you’ve told me but by your actions. An action goes a lot farther than something said. Thank you for being active in my life. Love you guys!

Hey Sarah,
I have known your parents since 1974 or ’75, when the four of you were only a gleam in God’s eyes! I can say that from the beginning of their marriage they both were earnest seekers of truth and the Source of truth. It has been a joy to me to watch them stay in the Story and live out their faith commitments.
It is a privilege for Vicki and me to count them as dear friends and fellow pilgrims on the journey. I agree with Raquel that, although their words are good, their actions in the beginning; over the years; and during the past difficult season of challenge; have been loud, clear beacons that call us all to come higher up and further into God’s big story. And an incredible benefit to knowing Joseph and Debbie before they started their family is that we also get to count their children and extended family as friends. You all are marvelous comrades.

Somebody asked me once how I raised such great kids…two things, I said, “I lived on my knees (praying)” and “the Lord put us with another couple (the Meadows) who modeled relationship and childrearing for us.” It was a win-win situation! Deb

Thank you Debbie. I think the prayer was definitely the main factor. It’s hard to remember that we used to be “ahead” of of you all — at least chronologically in marriage and child bearing. But now you are “ahead” of us in grandchild numbers and ages! It is wonderful to count you and Joseph as dear friends from whom we learn and receive so much.
