Psalm 119: 153-160, Good Friday · Mar 21, 08:53 AM

153-160
“Take a good look at my trouble, and help me— I haven’t forgotten your revelation.
Take my side and get me out of this; give me back my life, just as you promised.
“Salvation” is only gibberish to the wicked because they’ve never looked it up in your dictionary.
Your mercies, GOD, run into the billions; following your guidelines, revive me.
My antagonists are too many to count, but I don’t swerve from the directions you gave.
I took one look at the quitters and was filled with loathing; they walked away from your promises so casually!
Take note of how I love what you tell me; out of your life of love, prolong my life.
Your words all add up to the sum total: Truth. Your righteous decisions are eternal.”

I needed these verses this morning … the thought of quitting was in the back of my mind … when Deb read the verse “out of your life of love, prolong my life” she shed a few tears. His words add up to the sum total, Truth, and His life of love give us life. I realized after I wrote this that today is Good Friday.

Oh God, have mercy on me today and upon my weakness and unbelief. Please Lord, help me to forget about myself and to turn my eyes upon you and your love and truth. I cling to your precious promises!

  1. Thank you for your raw honesty. I can very much relate to the thought of wanting to quit. Thank you for the verses and prayer of hope. Sometimes it is difficult to share with others how we feel. Thank you for speaking the words that I sometimes think, but I am afraid to say. It reminds me that I am not alone. Both of you are a true blessing to me.

  3. I love you and kept you all in my thoughts and prayers this easter. I hope you remember that you are showered in light and love, and a GREAT inspiration.

    Amazing Grace!!!!!!!!!

“God is in every tomorrow, therefore i live for today, certain of finding at sunrise, guidance and strength for the way; power for each moment of weakness, hope for each moment of pain, comfort for every sorrow, sunrise and joy after rain.

God is in every tomorrow, planning for you and for me, even in the dark will i follow, trust where my eyes cannot see. Stilled by his assurance of blessing, soothed by the touch of his hand, confident in his protection, trusting his promises grand.

God is in every tomorrow, life with its changes may come, he is behind me, while on the horizon is home! Home where no thought of tomorrow ever can shadow my brow, home in the presence of Jesus, through all of eternity, wow!

  4. thank you Halcy! You are a great friend. I got your call the other day (Easter) but my cell is not working and I have not had time to try to call back from the land line. I hope we can see you soon… don’t forget my b-day party = April 27.
