Brethran dwelling together in unity... very pleasant! · Jan 19, 02:23 PM

Dear friends,

I just returned last night from a camping trip in the Florida Keys with a bunch of great guys. Some us participate in a blog discussion regarding theological and cultural issues, so it was really good to have some face-to-face time. There was a diverse group of young men, older men, and out-of-towners.

Two long term friends, John Meadows of Lexington, KY and Brian Emmet of Boston, Mass. Flew down to join with us and a friend, Dr. Sam Lopez, who teaches psychology at Miami Dade also join us for the weekend.

We had long and thoughtful conversations late into the night around a campfire about issues such as what it means to be a man, loving our neighbors, how to interpret the bible in new cultural settings among others.

I also got to do some kayacking and spent time with a couple of my grandkids. It was a real blessing.

I’m back to school tomorrow, and tomorrow night is our regular ‘God’-party, where we hang out with young singles and talk about spiritual issues.

Deb has been weak, and not feeling well for several days. AS always your prayers are deeply appreciated.

love,
Joseph

  1. Sounds like a great respite before tackling the difficult issues again, and may Jesus Christ bring strength and health to Debbie’s body.
