"He's got the whole world, in his hands" -John 14:27 · Sep 1, 07:36 AM

Wow! What a roller coaster ride…In the last two weeks I broke my toe, had chemo and the Neulasta Shot that causes pain, had a tooth pulled and flew to Boston where my foot became red and swollen and so painful that Joseph had to push me through the airports in a wheel chair…
Our daughter, Jessy (RN) said it could be a blood clot, so off we went to ER where they ruled out blood clots and fractures, gave me antibiotics and sent me home with a walker and instructions to stay off my foot. Tuesday, I had a kidney biopsy done to see if I have the beginnings of kidney disease and stayed overnight for observation. Then, on Thursday I had a PET Scan to make sure the cancer is not metastasizing anywhere else in my body. I will let you know what I find out—these things take time….Whew!-

Good news!!!

1) Joseph passed his written and oral comprehensive exams…yeah! Congratulations, Joseph!

2) My insurance situation has worked out and I now have coverage that works with Medicare. I can’t begin to tell you how much we appreciate your prayers and support as we walked through this difficult time, not knowing if I would be able to continue taking chemo and not knowing what the future held for us.

3) The PET Scan shows NO new tumors and a decrease in the size of existing ones and my bone density is better than it was a year ago! I told Joseph that I’m getting younger!!! This season has shown me that I can have peace and not be afraid. When I was a little girl we used to sing, “He’s got the whole world in His hands.” What peace and comfort that brings in trying times. May you know this peace as well.

Blessings,
Debbie
